4J Studios provided new information Monday on the release of the 1.8.2 update for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition along with screenshots showing the new locations and a video showing the new food mechanic.
"We're working hard fixing bugs in our 1.8.2 build," 4J Studios said on its official Twitter account. "[T]hink we have a week or two to go before can hand it over for Microsoft Cert Testing."
With this news, the best case scenario is to expect the 1.8.2 update to hit Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition by September 28 depending on the speed of Microsoft Cert Testing. The worst case would be a release a week or two into October.
4J Studios also put out four new screenshots showing a Ravine, Stronghold, Village and an Abandoned Mineshaft. All four are new locations that will be included with the 1.8.2 update.
There's also a new video showing the food and hunger mechanic in the game. Melon slices, raw chicken, raw beef, cooked chicken and steak will all be added to the game along with pumpkin seeds and melon seeds for farming. Players also gain a hunger bar next to their life bar and will need to make sure their character is well fed. Get too hungry and you'll eventually slow down and even lose health.
