The Pocket Edition is already out on the iOS and Android app stores but it was recently released to the Amazon Appstore which means it is now officially playable on the Kindle Fire.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition is the same $6.99 price on the Amazon Appstore as you'll find on iTunes and Google Play. It's also at the same 0.4.0 release level that was just released this month which makes sense given that it is essentially the same Android code currently available.
Kindle Fire owners that wanted to play Minecraft: Pocket Edition had to go through the trouble of rooting their tablet and installing the game through third-party subscriptions. Adding the game to the Amazon Appstore is long overdue but still welcome for making it easier to get for Amazon's tablet owners going forward.
The timing is good as well since the Kindle Fire HD family was just announced and the regular Kindle Fire received a price drop.
